Program Purpose Statement
The purpose of the Industrial Operations Technology program is to prepare students with the technical skills needed in various areas, including Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Industrial Controls, Automation Controls, Electrical Systems, Robotics, Industrial Wiring, Motor Controls, Smart Automation Sensors, Mechanical Systems, and Hydraulic Systems. Through its Division of Economic Development, the College currently provides the most progressive and comprehensive noncredit Industrial Maintenance training in the state of Georgia. The Industrial Operations Technology program seeks to extend this same high level of instruction to the credit side, allowing students to earn both a globally recognized Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) certification and a college credential. Ogeechee Technical College is committed to producing a work-ready workforce equipped for employment in Smart Automation Technology across the state of Georgia and the nation.
