Jennifer Witherington in new position at Ogeechee Tech

Jennifer Witherington now has a new position at Ogeechee Technical College. Formerly an Administrative Assistant in the Academic Affairs division, Witherington is now a Curriculum Specialist for Academic Affairs. Witherington has a Bachelor of Arts in English, and a Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction, both from Armstrong Atlantic State University, and has experience teaching at high school and college levels.
As Curriculum Specialist, Witherington will be working with faculty on student learning outcomes, curriculum processes, professional development, and instructional resources, according to Dr. Charlene Lamar, Vice President for Academic Affairs. “We are pleased to have Jennifer in this new position, and look forward to her expanded contribution in serving our students and faculty,” said Lamar.
“I came to work at Ogeechee Tech in 2008 with some doubts about living in a smaller town, but my mind quickly changed as my co-workers at Ogeechee Tech became my friends and family, and Statesboro became the place that I wanted to call my home,” said Witherington. “Coming to Ogeechee Tech after teaching high school, it didn’t take me long to realize that I love higher education and I love the students, faculty, and staff who I work with on a daily basis.”
Witherington has been active at the College and within the community since coming to Ogeechee Tech, including working with the American Diabetes Committee at the College, and participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure as a participant. She was the 2012 recipient of the Support Staff of the Year Award at Ogeechee Tech. She, and her husband John, have two children, Sadie and Parker.
