Meet the Faculty
Tina Welch has been a full time instructor in the Sonography programs at Ogeechee Technical College for 10 years. She began her professional career in Radiologic Technology. She has received an Associate of Science degree from Medical College of Georgia in Radiologic Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Hospital College of Health Science in Sonography. She most recently earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from Ashford University. Tina is an active member of Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Tina has held many positions in her many years of imaging ranging from staff radiographer/sonographer to department manager.
The Echocardiography program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP, www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS, www.jrcdms.org). All students entering the Echocardiography program must meet the core requirements outlined in the Health Care Assistant-Sonography Track Certificate.
Graduates of the Echocardiography program are eligible to sit for either the American Registry of Cardiac Sonographers (Adult Echocardiography) examination or the Non-Invasive/Echo Registry examination given by Cardiovascular Credentialing International to become a Registered

Attendance is a prerequisite for application to the DMS program. Attendance is highly recommended prior to making the decision to pursue a career as a sonographer.
